My dear Rana,

I have not heard from for a long time. Hope that all of you are keeping well. You will be glad to know that we observed our annual cultural function last week.

On the occasion our school campus and the surroundings of the play ground were decorated with colourful papers, festoons etc. The main stage was also decorated with flowers, balloons etc. The honourable secretary of Education was the chief guest of the function. When the chief guest arrived, the scouts of our school gave him a guard of honour. The function began just at 10.30 am. with the recitation from the holy Quran.

The function was presided over by our Headmaster. Then, one of the students announced the scheduled programmes. After that the performers of each class started to perform on the stage. Someone danced, someone sang, someone told jakes and some recited poems. There were also some group performances. Our class had been chosen to put on a play. So, after one month rehearsal, we performed on the stage quite well. This play had been written by our class teacher. Ours was the last presentation. Then the chief guest gave a very glorifying speech which encouraged us to do better in future. He also advised us to build up a good character. At last our Headmaster thanked the distinguished guest and others present on the occasion.

Altogether, it was a pleasant day for me. I’m quite well. No more today, with best regards to your parents and good wishes to you.

My dear Rana,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. It has been a while since we last caught up, and I wanted to share an exciting experience with you. Last week, we had a cultural function at our school, and it was one of the most enjoyable events I’ve attended in a long time.

The event started in the afternoon, with the entire school decorated beautifully with colorful flags, lights, and flowers. The atmosphere was lively, and everyone was dressed in traditional attire, adding a festive touch. The theme of the function was “Celebrating Diversity,” which showcased the rich cultural heritage of our country.

The program began with a speech by our Principal, who emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating our traditions. Then came the performances, and they were truly a treat to watch! There were folk dances, classical music recitals, and drama performances that depicted historical events. I participated in a group dance that represented the culture of our region. It was such an exhilarating experience to perform on stage in front of a cheering audience.

One of the highlights of the evening was the fashion show, where students wore traditional costumes from different parts of the country. It was amazing to see the diversity and beauty of our cultural heritage. The crowd cheered enthusiastically for every participant.

The food stalls set up in the school courtyard were another major attraction. They served a variety of traditional dishes and snacks, and I couldn’t resist trying pithas, samosas, and some delicious sweets. Sharing food with friends while laughing and chatting made the evening even more special.

The function ended with a grand finale—a group performance where students and teachers joined in singing a patriotic song. The energy and unity displayed in that moment were truly inspiring.
