1. Read the following text carefully and answer the questions no. 4
The great men were born in different places of this world but their activities make them familiar and closer to us. Dr. Muhammad Shahiduallh was one of those who contributed a lot towards Bangla language and literature. He was the greatest scholar of Bengal. This great scholar was born on July, 1885 at 24 Pargonas in West Bengal, India. He passed his entrance examination in 1904 and obtained his B.A. degree six years later. It took him two years to complete his M.A. and another two years for his Bachelor of Law Degree. He later joined the University of Dhaka in 1921 as a professor of Sanskrit and Bengali. He was awarded the Doctorate Degree from Sorbone University, Paris in 1928.. | "Bangla Shahitter Katha", the first well-arranged history of Bengali literature was composed by him that was published in 1953. This great scholar remained busy with his work. till he became seriously ill in 1967 and was confined to bed for about two and a half years. Dr. Shaiduallan breathed his last on 13th July, 1969 in Dhaka. We remember him with great respect and gratitude.

ড. মুহাম্মদ শহীদুল্লাহ পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন স্থানে জন্মগ্রহণকারী মহান ব্যক্তিত্বদের মধ্যে একজন, যাদের কর্মকাণ্ড তাদের আমাদের কাছে পরিচিত এবং কাছাকাছি করে তোলে। তিনি ছিলেন বাংলা ভাষা ও সাহিত্যের প্রতি তার অবদানসহ বঙ্গের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ পণ্ডিত। এই মহান পণ্ডিত ১৮৮৫ সালের জুলাই মাসে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ২৪ পরগনা অঞ্চলে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তিনি ১৯০৪ সালে প্রবেশিকা পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হন এবং ছয় বছর পরে বি.এ. ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। এম.এ. ডিগ্রি সম্পন্ন করতে তাকে দুই বছর সময় লাগে এবং তার পরবর্তী দুই বছর সময় ব্যয় হয় ব্যাচেলর অব ল ডিগ্রি অর্জনে। ১৯২১ সালে তিনি ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে সংস্কৃত ও বাংলা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক হিসেবে যোগদান করেন। ১৯২৮ সালে তিনি সোরবন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, প্যারিস থেকে ডক্টরেট ডিগ্রি লাভ করেন। তার বিখ্যাত রচনা "বাংলা সাহিত্যের কথা" ১৯৫৩ সালে প্রকাশিত হয়, যা বাংলা সাহিত্যের প্রথম পূর্ণাঙ্গ ইতিহাস হিসেবে পরিচিত। ১৯৬৭ সালে তিনি গুরুতর অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়েন এবং প্রায় দেড় বছর বিছানায় পড়ে থাকেন। ১৯৬৯ সালের ১৩ জুলাই ঢাকায় তিনি মৃত্যুবরণ করেন। আমরা তাকে গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও কৃতজ্ঞতার সঙ্গে স্মরণ করি।
