8. Identify the unclear pronoun references in the following paragraph. Where necessary, rewrite the sentence so that all pronoun references are clear. 1 × 5 = 5

Women are nowadays as important as men in society. She constitute nearly half of the total population. No nation can make real progress keeping half of it in the dark. Without the upliftment of women it is not at all possible. Again, without education women cannot be uplifted. So, proper education should be given to her so that they can work hand in hand with them in all development programmes.

9. Read the following text and use modifiers as directed in the blank spaces : 0⋅5×10 = 5

14. Recently a seminar was held in your college on “Causes of students failure in Ennglish”. Now write a report on this seminar highlighting the findings and suggestions mentioned in the seminar. 8

15. Write a paragraph on “The Uses and Abuses of Mobile Phone”. Use 100-150 words 10

16. “Modern Civilization is Mostly Projected in City Life”. Yet there are some discomforts and disadvantages of it. If you agree, write on the advantages and disadvantages of city life showing reasons of your answer. Use 200-250 words. 14
