Town/City Where You Live Now

Where do you live now?

I’m currently residing in the UK, specifically in a city called Leeds. I’ve been calling this place home for the past nine months. It’s situated in the northern part of England.

How would you describe the town/city?

Leeds strikes me as a bustling, industrial city, though I’m not sure how much of its industry remains. It’s definitely a city on the up and up—new apartments are springing up, and shopping centers are popping up like mushrooms both in the city center and on its fringes. The city has a cosmopolitan vibe, thanks in part to its university, which adds to its ethnic diversity.

What do you like about your area of the town/city?

While it might not win any beauty contests, Leeds has its own charm. The amenities are top-notch, and it really has everything I could need. From a wide range of shops to a smorgasbord of restaurants—whether you’re looking to splurge on a fancy meal or grab a quick and affordable bite—Leeds has got you covered. Plus, there’s a football stadium, though Leeds United isn’t exactly setting the pitch on fire these days.

Is there anything you don’t like about your area of the town/city?

One downside is the transport network, which leaves a lot to be desired. Although there are buses and trains, the city lacks trams, which makes getting around a bit of a slog. The buses and trains are often late, which is a major hassle for me since I need to make it to my classes on time.

Do you expect to continue living in this town/city for a long time?

That’s a tough nut to crack right now because I’m not sure where my future lies. I’ve applied to several universities, including Leeds, but there’s a chance I could end up in Brighton, which is a fair distance
