You should say:

To be perfectly honest, I was torn between talking about my oven and my washing machine because they are both indispensable items, but I’ve decided to talk about the latter.

When I was growing up, I didn’t take much notice of the washing machine because my parents did the laundry. I just put my clothes in the washing basket and several days later they appeared in my wardrobe washed and ironed. Now, I’m living in my own house and need to be self-sufficient, so I’ve realized how invaluable the washer is. On average, I do about four loads of washing a week so it’s like every other day and if it broke down, I’d struggle because I can’t handwash all my clothes.

A normal wash takes a couple of hours, but if I need something in a hurry there is a quick wash setting that does a load in about half an hour. I tend to use that setting if I need something for the next day and it’s late at night and I need to get it done before I go to bed.

I have a tumble dryer as well, but I don’t use it much because it uses an awful lot of electricity so isn’t environmentally-friendly or cheap to run. Admittedly, the washer uses an astronomical amount of water so it isn’t good for the environment; however, many modern washers wash at lower temperatures than in the past so they are greener than they used to be.

One home appliance that I use frequently is my coffee maker. It’s an essential part of my daily routine and has a significant impact on how my day starts.

I use this coffee maker every morning without fail. It’s a modern machine with several features, including a programmable timer, which allows me to set it up the night before so that I can wake up to a fresh pot of coffee. This feature is particularly useful for me, as I’m usually in a rush in the mornings and having my coffee ready when I wake up saves me a lot of time.

The coffee maker is situated in the kitchen, on the countertop next to the sink. This placement makes it very convenient to use, as I can easily fill it with water and coffee grounds without having to move it around. I’ve been using this coffee maker for a few years now, and it has become an indispensable part of my morning routine. The machine can brew a variety of coffee styles, from a simple black coffee to more complex beverages like cappuccinos and lattes, which I occasionally enjoy on weekends.

The influence of this appliance on my daily life is substantial. It not only provides me with a much-needed caffeine boost to kickstart my day but also adds a sense of routine and comfort. The smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning is invigorating and helps me wake up feeling more alert and ready to face the day. Additionally, having a good quality coffee maker ensures that I get to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee every day, which is a small but significant pleasure.

In summary, my coffee maker is more than just an appliance; it’s a vital part of my daily routine that enhances my mornings and contributes to my overall well-being.
