Discouraging them from indulging in harmful programs on satellite channels is essential for their well-rounded development and preserving our cultural values. OUR SCHOOL MAGAZINE Every year, our school, like many others, proudly publishes a school magazine. This annual publication serves as a mirror reflecting the ideas and progress of our educational institution. It is a testament to the latent talents within our student body. With the collaborative efforts of both students and teachers, we bring this magazine to life.A dedicated magazine committee, composed of members from both student and teacher ranks, oversees the entire process. This magazine is the culmination of their hard work and creativity. Within its pages, readers can find a diverse array of content, including stories, poems, articles, jokes, and short plays, presented in both Bengali and English. These contributions come from the pens of both students and teachers, showcasing the intellectual richness of our school community. The financial resources required for producing the magazine are primarily generated through the sale of advertising space within its pages. This not only supports the publication but also fosters a connection with local businesses and the wider community.Beyond its financial aspect, the school magazine plays a crucial role in enriching our knowledge and honing our critical thinking skills. It serves as a platform that inspires us to express our talents and encourages us to work together towards a common goal. In essence, the school magazine acts as a training ground for cooperation and literary endeavors, fostering a sense of unity and camaraderie among all involved. School Magazine A school magazine is like a special book that a school creates every year. It's made up of many stories, poems, essays, and other things that students and teachers write. Imagine it as a big team effort! In the school, a group called the magazine committee takes charge of making it happen. This team usually has nine members, including teachers and students. The headmaster is the top boss of the committee. One teacher is the advisor, and another is the proof-reader to make sure there are no mistakes. The students on the committee have important jobs too. One student becomes the editor, and they have two helpers. Some other students take care of getting money for the magazine by selling space for advertisements. This money helps to pay for making the magazine. The school magazine is a fantastic way for students to show off their talents. They write all sorts of things for it, like short stories, poems, plays, jokes, and more. It's like a window into their creative minds. When the magazine is ready, it's like a treasure full of words. It helps everyone in the school to learn and think better. Reading it can inspire other students to discover their own talents. Plus, it brings the whole school community together, showing that they can achieve great things when they work together. So, a school magazine is not just a book; it's a celebration of the students and teachers and all the wonderful things they can do. OUR SCHOOL LIBRARY Our school is blessed with a wonderful library. It has so many books that it seems impossible to count them. There are long lines of shelves and cupboards containing books on a variety of subjects. In the reading room, there are many long tables with chairs and a little placard with the word ‘SILENCE’ written on it, for a library is a place of peace and quiet. On a table there are magazines of all kinds, in English and Bengali. There are newspapers as well. When a student wants to borrow a book from the library, he chooses the book and takes it to the librarian. The librarian stamps it and notes the name of the child, the book and the date on which it is taken. The librarian is a trained and qualified person. He helps the children to select good books and keeps the library in perfect order. A place of peace and silence, the library is a storehouse of books written beautifully by well-known authors. It is well stocked with storybooks too. The true function of our school library is to make us aware of good and wholesome books that will widen our knowledge and help us grow up intellectually. A SCIENCE FAIR I HAVE VISITED My elder brother who studies in BUET recently invited me to pay a visit to their campus on the occasion of a science fair. Accordingly, I went there and enjoyed a lot. What I saw was a fantastic arrangement of exhibits of all kinds of scientific experiments done both by the students of BUET and by students of other science institutions. The exhibition was being held in a 4-storeyed building. On the ground floor we saw many posters of great scientists of the world like Newton, Einstein, and Prof. Abdus Salam. Some of the wall papers contained memorable statements on the importance of science. The third floor had the most interesting practical exhibits to show. The students of BUET had arranged it. All their exhibitions were the result of their laboratory experiment. One object drew my attention. It was about the optical illusion. A small iron ball was shown to be travelling upward on a narrow plank of board, without any additional help. Later, I realised that the board was originally set with the upside end actually lower than the downside end, for which reason it gave the illusion that the ball was rolling upward, when actually it was gliding down. In the aviation room they put blown up pictures of Apollo 11 making its historic voyage to the moon. In the fair I gathered almost up-to-date information about the development of Physics, Chemistry, Medical Science and Technology. Indeed, the science fair increased our zeal about scientific facts. We feel that we must know more about the mysteries of nature. A science fair has a great educative value. I spent full six hours visiting the science fair and learning and enjoying a world of new things. It has left a deep impression on my mind. SELF CONTROL

Man has passions as well as reasons. Passions are strong desires for pleasure and enjoyment. Passions are, however, include violent emotions and impulses as well. They are like spirited horses. If spirited horses are managed well, they prove very useful. If, however, they are not properly controlled, they will bolt and the riders will be at their mercy. Again, if passions are kept under tight control, they serve very useful purposes. The man who keeps a tight rein on his passions is a self-controlled man. It is not, however, easy to achieve self-control. Man has a natural tendency to give way to passions. If a man is earnest, he can have a tight control over himself, over his passions. He has, however, to learn how to discipline himself. He has first to acquire the habit of exercising his reason. A man must consider well before he obeys the dictates of his passion. If his reason tells him that it will benefit him and his race, he will do well to obey it. If, however, it is found that it may prove harmful in the end, he will be well- advised to resist its temptation with all his will. We must, therefore, obey discipline. That will make us our own masters and fit to command others. The really strong man is he who is self-controlled.

THE SHAT GAMBUJ MOSQUE It is well known that the beauty of the imposing multidomed Shat Gambuj Mosque is really wonderful. In mid-15th century, a Muslim colony was founded in the inhospitable mangrove forest of the Sundarbans near the seacoast in Bagerhat district by a saint Ulugh Khan Jahan. He was the earliest torchbearer of Islam in the South who laid the nucleus of an affluent city during the reign of Sultan Nasiruddin Mahmud Shah (1442-59), then known as ‘Khalifatabad’ (present Bagerhat). I, accompanied with some of my friends visited the historical mosque and its adjoining area. It came to our view that the stately fabric of the monument stands on the eastern bank of a vast sweet-water tank, clustered around by the heavy foliage. This gives a real picture of a low- lying countryside characteristic of a seacoast landscape. The mosque is roofed over with 77 squat domes, including 7 Chauchala or four-sided domes in the middle row. The vast prayer hall is provided with 11 arched doorways on east and 7 each on north and south for ventilation and light. It has 7 longitudinal aisles and 11 deep bays by a forest of slender stones columns. From these columns spring rows of endless arches, supporting the domes. The arches are six feet in thickness, have slightly tapering hollow and round walls. The interior and the exterior of the mosque give a view of rather plain architecture but the interior western wall of the mosque was beautifully decorated with terracotta flowers and foliage. It is also known that besides being used as a prayer hall the mosque was also used as the court of Khan Jahan Ali. At present it is one of the greatest tourist attractions and best architectural beauties of Bangladesh. Sidr Bangladesh is facing a cyclone named Sidr which is one of the severest cyclones that have ever hit this country. Its, named Sidr, severity can be compared with that of 1991.But it is matter of great fortune that the casualties are less this time because the government took earlier measures. Notwithstanding it has claimed over 1000 lives and inflicted injures to thousands of others. The cyclone has caused a 10 feet high tidal surge devastating human habitation of nearly one million people. Wind speed of 220-240 miles kilometers, huge tidal waves and torrential rains has joined together to cause this unforeseen havoc. Kutcha houses of some 15 worst hit districts have been razed to the ground due to effect of the cyclonic storm while thousands of trees have been uprooted, Standing Rabi and Aman crops over lakhs of acres of land have been destroyed and thousands of livestock have been washed away. Communication system has been completely damaged by the storm. People who have escaped Sidr fortunately have lost all of their belongings. Help from all walks of life is needed to face this natural disaster. In the cyclone affected are there are severe scarcity of food, pure water, shelter, medicine other essential commodities. Not only Government but also NGOs and other social bodies should come forward to meet this immediate needs and they should start rehabilitation with in no time otherwise this will cause a human disaster.

SIX BLIND MAN AND AN ELEPHANT The foremost duty of a student is to acquire knowledge. He earns knowledge through education. He learns things from the study of books. But at the same time he learns from experience or from observation of life and nature. If we experience more things, we might learn more. Learning from experience is better than learning from books because the former makes a more lasting impression on mind. But there rises a question of how much we learn from experience. The story of six blind men and the elephant can be mentioned here. Once six blind men wanted to know how an elephant looks like. So they, by turns, went near the animal and felt it. They touched the elephant’s side, tusk, trunk, leg, ear and tail respectively. Then they formed different ideas about the elephant. They experienced the same elephant but their opinions were different. This is because the elephant was huge for them and their visions were limited. From the story we learn that we can learn about a thing from experience. At the same time we should have a broad outlook.

SMITHY Smithy means a blacksmith’s workshop. In order to make tools a blacksmith uses different sorts of things in his smithy. Among them bellows, hammers, forge and metal chain are mentionable. Forage is used for burning. By pulling a metal chain a blacksmith makes the bellows blow with roars. With the result that the forge burns brightly with flying sparks. Besides, using hammers a blacksmith gives the different shape to the tools which he always makes with iron. Thus a blacksmith with the help of forge, bellows, hammers makes various types of tools such as spades, hoes, rakes, knives, sickle, chopper etc. in his smithy. These tools are inevitable in our daily life. So, a blacksmith plays a significant role in our practical affairs. Generally a blacksmith in a smithy is a mighty man. He has crisp, black and long hair. His face is like the tan. In his smithy, he works hard from morning to evening to earn his livelihood. He does not owe to anybody. So he is not afraid of anybody. As for instance, we here can refer to a smithy which is situated under a mango tree. Two blacksmiths namely Ashok and Tapon work in this smithy. They work all day long in the smithy to earn their living. Their income is limited. They are happy with what they earn. They do not borrow from anybody. They earn whatever they can. There remains something attempted and something done in the smithy. School going boys and girls peep through their open door. They like hear the bellows roar and to catch the sparks that fly.

SMOKING

To me, smoking is not only a bad habit but also a very harmful practice. Our puff of smoke contains near about is billion particles of matter. These include nicotine, arsenic methyl alcohol, benzophyrene, etc. It is very injurious to our health, life and environment. It is a very dangerous habit. It can cause some diseases such as bronchitis, cancer, tuberculosis, high blood pressure, kidney and heart diseases. It also pollutes our environment. Even a smoker can harm a non-smoker. Because if a smoker smokes before a non-smoker, he/she (non-smoker) is affected by the smoke which is harmful to health. So, by smoking in the public places, a smoker can cause harm to the non-smokers. In my family there is not a single smoker. Therefore, the environment of our home always remains fresh. Smoking is not as glamorous as somebody thinks is to be. As smoking causes some fatal diseases and contaminates our air, we should be conscious about its injurious consequences. Therefore, there should be some strict laws against smoking. So, I support the recent ban on ;fmoking in the public places.

SOUND POLLUTION Sound is a fundamental aspect of life, but excessive and loud noise has become a growing problem in modern society, leading to sound pollution. This issue has reached alarming levels and poses harmful effects on our daily lives and activities. Sound, when at a normal, tolerable, and pleasant level, is simply referred to as "sound." However, when it becomes sharp and harsh to the ears, it transforms into "noise." Regular exposure to sounds exceeding 70 decibels can cause serious harm to people. The rapid growth of urban populations and the increasing use of machinery in our daily lives have led to a general increase in the levels of noise in our surroundings. On average, city dwellers are exposed to sounds ranging from 30 to 90 decibels or even higher. This continuous exposure to high levels of noise can have detrimental effects on our auditory nerves, potentially leading to deafness and psychological imbalances. Sound pollution poses a particular threat to patients, children, and the elderly, and it can be especially dangerous for individuals with heart conditions.Sound pollution has now exceeded the limits of human endurance, necessitating urgent action to address it. Enforcing strict laws to control noise pollution is crucial. Additionally, it is essential for everyone to cultivate the virtue of quietness in both domestic and public life. By taking these measures, we can mitigate the harmful effects of sound pollution and create a more peaceful and healthy environment for all. SOUND POLLUTION Pollution is a major threat to our modern civilization. Like many other pollutions, sound pollution is also endangering our living and environment. Sound is a kind of energy which man has applied into various fields of everyday life with success. But in the process, the chances of sound pollution have also taken a great leap. There are many sources of sound pollutions. Horns and whistles of different vehicles plying on the roads are polluting the environment a lot. Besides, the drivers often press the horns unnecessarily even near the schools and hospitals which causes serious problems to the students and patients. Moreover, our young generation has a peculiar fascination towards listening to music at high volume. Various shops and hotels at the roadsides also tune their audio system loudly to attract customers. Mikes and loud speakers are also used on many occasions without considering any limitation. Shouting of slogans on the roads as well as in the campus tell upon the peaceful atmosphere. The sounds of mills, factories, power looms also contribute to sound pollution. So if we wish to control sound pollution, we need to develop awareness among the people and also enforce the law strictly.

Sound Pollution Sound pollution has become a dreadful menace in our environment today. It refers to unpleasant and harsh sounds that are unbearable and unpleasant to the ears, posing a significant threat to our quality of life. There are multiple causes of sound pollution, including motor vehicles, aircraft, railway engines, powerhouses, mills, factories, televisions, radios, cassette players, microphones, loudspeakers, and more. Among them, the hydraulic horn of motor vehicles is one of the most serious contributors to sound pollution.Noisy places such as primary schools, markets, airports, railway stations, bus stops, riverbanks, fish markets, and tea stalls are particularly affected by sound pollution. Factors like illiteracy, lack of awareness, and overpopulation contribute to this alarming problem. The acceptable sound level is around 45 decibels, but in our cities, it often reaches 90 to 100 decibels, posing a significant threat to our well-being and the acoustic environment. The consequences of sound pollution are severe, gradually causing deafness, high blood pressure, heart diseases, and significant damage to our brains and memory. To combat this pressing issue, we must ban the use of hydraulic horns and loudspeakers, relocate mills and factories away from residential areas, eliminate illiteracy, and raise public awareness about the dangers of sound pollution. Controlling sound pollution is essential to creating a decent and safe world for everyone. SOUND POLLUTION Sound is an inherent part of life, signifying vitality and activity. However, excessive or loud sounds can pose problems for everyone. In the contemporary world, sound pollution has escalated to a concerning level, impacting our lives and daily activities adversely. When sound is at a normal, tolerable, and pleasant level, we simply call it "sound." But when it becomes sharp and grating to the ears, it transforms into "noise." Prolonged exposure to sounds exceeding 70 decibels can seriously harm individuals. The proliferation of urban populations and the widespread use of machines in our daily lives have led to a general increase in ambient sound levels. On average, people in cities are exposed to sounds ranging from 30 to 90 decibels or even higher. This heightened soundscape has adverse effects on our auditory nerves, potentially causing deafness and psychological imbalances. Sound pollution has particularly become a threat to vulnerable groups such as patients, children, and the elderly, especially those suffering from heart diseases. The severity of sound pollution has surpassed the limits of human endurance, necessitating immediate action. Stricter laws should be enforced to mitigate this issue effectively. Furthermore, we should all cultivate the virtue of tranquility in both domestic and public life. In doing so, we can restore the balance between the sounds of life and the tranquility required for our well-being. THE STRATEGIES TO DO WELL IN THE EXAMINATION Exam fitness is a must for any student who tries to do well in the examination. There must be a strategy to make brilliant results. A student should study regularly right from the beginning of the school term. Regular work right from the very beginning makes one thorough. Students should try to understand the lessons instead of cramming to develop their creativity. They should not learn answers by rote taking from a common source. They should prepare their own notes which will help them to avoid giving almost the same answers in scripts. They should revise their lessons frequently. It is important for an examinee to check and double-check the dates and times of ensuing exams and be aware of carrying the necessary things along with to the examination hall. In the examination hall, students should go through the whole question paper before starting to write and take the mental preparation of attempting to answer all the questions. While having a glance at the question paper, it is better to underline the key words in the questions. Moreover, during answering ‘half way’ check is important to be in proper track. Care should be given to the hand writing so that it is legible to the examiner. Thus exam fitness enables an examinee to perform well in the examination hall, which brings success to a student. A STREET BEGGAR A street beggar is found sitting or standing by the roadside and begging for alms. He is seen almost everywhere in towns and cities. He wears torn and patched up clothes. Sometimes he is alone and sometimes he is in company. A mother with a child or two is also sometimes seen begging. A beggar may be a man or a woman or a child. He or she may be an old, crippled or disabled person or he she may be an able-bodied person. Whenever he/she sees a passer-by, he/she stretches out his /her hand for help. A few passers-by stop, give him/her loud shouts and avoid him. A beggar sometimes follows a passer-by at some distance begging for help. Beggars are after all, poor, miserable fellows. Many of them suffer from contagious diseases. They are generally people of bad morals. They help spread diseases in towns and cities immorally. Begging encourages idleness and immorality. The children of beggars also turn beggars. They grow up as professional beggars. So, measures should be taken in prohibition of this bad habit. A STREET BEGGAR A street beggar is a common sight in towns and cities, often found sitting or standing by the roadside, pleading for alms. They wear tattered and patched-up clothing, and their presence is ubiquitous. Beggars come in various forms, from individuals to mothers with children. They can be men, women, or children, and their physical conditions vary from old age, disabilities, to able-bodied individuals. When they spot a passerby, they extend their hand in hope of receiving assistance. Some passersby ignore them, give them stern looks, or avoid them altogether. Occasionally, beggars persistently follow people at a distance, continuing their pleas for help. Beggars are individuals in unfortunate circumstances, often afflicted by poverty and misery. Many of them suffer from contagious diseases, posing health risks to themselves and others. Generally, they have a reputation for engaging in questionable moral behavior, and their presence can contribute to the spread of diseases within urban areas. Begging also fosters idleness and immorality, and sadly, the children of beggars often inherit this way of life, becoming professional beggars themselves. As a result, it is essential to implement measures to discourage and address this detrimental habit. Efforts should be taken to deter begging and support those in need through more sustainable means, such as providing access to education, vocational training, and social services. This approach can help break the cycle of begging and offer individuals a chance for a better life.

A STREET ACCIDENT Street accidents have become major but normal incidents of our life. Everyday we are getting the news of tragic death of many people owing to accidents of buses, trucks, tempos, rickshaws and other vehicles through the TV news or the national dailies. Last day I met with such a tragic accident that it would take a pretty long time to forget that memory. I was going to Mirpur (Pallabi) by direct bus from Farm Gate. It was then 3 P. M. I sat behind the driver. A woman was sitting just beside the driver with a baby in her lap. When it reached the Agargaon Weather office, all on a sudden it jumped over the divider of the road and dashed with a huge tree and the front glass of the bus broke into pieces. The woman was dozing, so she failed to observe what was going to happen and within twinkle of an eye the baby fell down from its mother’s lap with the broken glass and it fell like a stuntman of a move. By the grace of Almighty the baby was saved but some other passengers including me got injured. We were taken to the Lions Eye Hospital and given the first aid. These types of incidents are the natural phenomenon of our daily life. So the steps for checking accidents in the street need top priority. A STREET ACCIDENT Street accidents have tragically become a common occurrence in our daily lives. We regularly receive news of people losing their lives in accidents involving buses, trucks, tempos, rickshaws, and other vehicles through TV reports and national newspapers. Just recently, I experienced a harrowing accident that will linger in my memory for a long time. I was on my way to Mirpur (Pallabi) on a direct bus from Farm Gate around 3 P.M. I chose to sit behind the driver. A woman sat next to the driver, holding a baby in her lap.As we approached the Agargaon Weather office, a sudden and unexpected incident occurred. The bus veered over the road divider and collided with a large tree, shattering the front glass of the bus into pieces. The woman was dozing off and unaware of the impending danger. In the blink of an eye, the baby fell from her lap along with the broken glass, landing like a stuntman from a movie. Fortunately, by the grace of Almighty, the baby survived, but several passengers, including myself, sustained injuries. We were rushed to the Lions Eye Hospital, where we received immediate first aid. These accidents have unfortunately become a natural part of our daily lives. Therefore, it is imperative that steps be taken to prioritize accident prevention and road safety measures to protect the lives of all road users.

STREET CHILDREN Street children are constantly seen by us. They are the abandoned children coming from broken homes. Since they have little scope for schooling, they are seen doing this or that on the street or on the way-side. In search of a handful of rice or anything to eat, they loiter from one place to another. Their parents even if they have, do never care to bother about them. They have no permanent shelter to lay their head. Their long-day occupation ranges from begging to stealing and from collecting different waste materials from wayside to selling betel leaves, cigarette to the passers-by. Their education is left to the street. And the streets teach them to swear, to smoke freely and to keep his fist always ready for fight. They seem to bear a scorn for everyone crossing their path. They are neglected in the society and nobody cares for them. They like to lead a care-free life completely putting of all thoughts of living a meaningful life until they are matured to think for themselves. STREET CHILDREN Street children are a common sight in our society, representing a heartbreaking consequence of broken homes and abandonment. These unfortunate children, deprived of the opportunity for education, are often found engaged in various activities on the streets and roadside. They roam from place to place in search of a meager meal, struggling to make ends meet. Regrettably, their parents, if they even have any, seem indifferent to their well-being.These children lack a stable shelter, spending their days engaged in activities ranging from begging and scavenging waste materials to selling items like betel leaves and cigarettes to passers-by. Their education is largely acquired through their experiences on the streets, where they learn undesirable behaviors such as swearing, smoking, and resorting to violence when necessary. They often harbor a sense of resentment towards everyone they encounter. In our society, these street children are marginalized and neglected, with no one extending a helping hand. They prefer a carefree existence, unconcerned about leading meaningful lives until they mature and can begin making decisions for themselves. This issue is a reflection of the broader challenges faced by vulnerable children in society, emphasizing the need for intervention and support to break this cycle of neglect and hardship.

The Street Children in Bangladesh Street children are youngsters who wander aimlessly along city streets and roads, lacking a fixed place to call home. They roam the streets, scavenging for food in discarded bins and finding rest on sidewalks. The street becomes their makeshift dwelling, and they are often referred to as "street children" because they lack a stable residence. Many of these children are orphans, without any guardians or guidance, while some are born into unlawful circumstances. They typically earn their living through various means, such as begging, stealing, selling inexpensive goods, collecting discarded items from roadsides, pulling rickshaws, or working at places like railway stations, bus stops, and riverbanks. Some may find employment in hotels and restaurants. These children often face illiteracy, inadequate nutrition, shabby clothing, and low wages. They are deprived of basic human and social rights and live without social security and dignity. These marginalized children lead challenging lives, lacking joy and happiness, and often meet their end in sorrow and misery. They receive little love or respect from society, even though they are citizens of our nation and deserve the same rights and privileges as others. Providing street children with proper education and essential training can transform their lives and turn them into skilled and productive individuals. It is the responsibility of both the government and the broader community to extend a helping hand and change the fate of these street children for the better. STUDENTS AND SOCIAL SERVICE Society is a co-operative body. So long as human beings are no less or more than human beings, they must live in society. Students are social beings. Isolated from the society, the existence of students cannot be thought of. They enjoy the social benefits and rights. Enjoyment of social rights imposes upon them some duties to the society in which they live. Apart from building up themselves, the students have a responsibility to build up the nation. So they should play an important role to mould an ideal society for an ideal nation. Our country is beset with problems like poverty, ill-health, illiteracy and superstition. The students can do away with these and do many things for the welfare of the country. Students can help the spread of knowledge. They can teach the illiterate people the basic rules of health and sanitation. They can make the people aware of the necessity of the family planning. In case of natural calamities students can come forward to mitigate the sufferings of the distressed. It is, therefore, safely be said that social service of the students serves not only an individual society but also the cause of humanity.

STUDENTS AND SOCIAL SERVICE Society functions as a cooperative entity, and human beings inherently live within this social framework. Students, too, are inherently social beings, and their existence is intertwined with society. They benefit from the advantages and rights that society offers. However, these social rights also come with responsibilities towards the society they are a part of. Beyond self-development, students bear a duty to contribute to the development of the nation. In this context, students can play a vital role in shaping an ideal society for a thriving nation. Our country faces numerous challenges, including poverty, poor health, illiteracy, and superstition. Students have the potential to address these issues and contribute significantly to the country's well-being. They can promote knowledge dissemination, educate the illiterate about basic health and sanitation practices, and raise awareness about the importance of family planning. In times of natural disasters, students can step up to alleviate the suffering of affected individuals. Therefore, it is safe to say that students' engagement in social service benefits not only the local community but also humanity as a whole. Their contributions extend beyond personal growth, making a positive impact on society and working towards the greater good of the nation. SUCCESSFUL CAREER OF A WOMAN Bangladesh is a poor country. Most of the poor people of our country live in villages. Feroza, a glaring instance of the impoverished section shows how she has become successful in building up her career successfully. She had no land, no house, no cows, and no food. Often she had to go without food for two days with her sons. Feroza’s husband was inactive. The entire family depended on her. She had very little and sometimes no income at all. But there were so many mouths to feed. So, in order to save her children from starvation, Feroza had to sell off her house. Feroza struggled hard against poverty. In spite of being a woman, Feroza used to do any kind of work to feed her children. One day she learnt that the poor and helpless were being given loan by the Grameen Bank. Feroza was inspired by the idea and accordingly took help from the Grameen Bank. Realising the importance of education, Feroza began to go to the adult literacy centre. The villagers could not accept it as a normal matter. They insulted her and called her mad. She did not falter, rather took it as a challenge. She proved herself to be the best student. The Grameen bank appointed her a teacher in their pre-school centre. By dint of her struggle and hard work, Feroza changed her lot. Now she has land, house, food and a small stationery shop. She is happy now. She has made the impossible possible.

Superstition Superstition means irrational belief in unknown agencies and imaginary evils. It exists in various forms. Belief in magic and miracles and blind observance of some social customs and ceremonies may also be regarded as superstitions. These superstitions have grown up through centuries and they are still with us. Even the civilized Greeks and Romans were not free from superstition. Europe was full of superstitions during the middle ages. It was the cruelest act of superstitions which put John of Arc on the pyre. Witch - hunting was a peculiar superstition in England during the reign of Elizabeth. Every age had thus its peculiar superstitions, and so had every country. To be free from such superstition the remedy is education. Education alone can make that possible. We must, therefore, spread education and start a war against superstition. Natural Beauty The earth is the unique creation of God. The secret harmony of the universe lies on the beauties of the earth. the everlasting beauty of the universe if from the sky to the flowers of the garden. As a creation of God, everybody should understand or feel the creation of God. Everything in the earth plays its own important role . Nothing is useless to God. The creation of God is at a stake nowadays for the industrial development. The beauty of the nature affects the mind of the people. The vast blue sky, the evergreen fields, long sea beaches, the beautiful rivers, hills and the cheerful moonlight , all those that have made the nature the paradise of the earth. We still not stay in the earth for ever but the beauty of nature will remain forever as the inspiration for the next generations. The gift of nature and the beauty of nature are also for the sake of human being. So, everyone should be conscious to preserve the beauty of nature for the betterment of our unborn children. Nature can play a vital role in making our lives more generous with the feelings of love and affection, care and concern for the entire humanity of the universe.
