TRAFFIC JAM Traffic means vehicles. Traffic jam is a long queue of vehicles on a road that cannot move or that can move very slowly. It is a great nuisance for the modem society. Nowadays, traffic jam is a common problem in our towns and cities. It causes intolerable sufferings to the passengers and the passers-by. Mostly the increasing number of vehicles causes traffic jam. Day by day the number of vehicles is increasing to meet the need of increased population. But the roads arc not increasing in that proportion. Many vehicles moving on a same road at a time are causing traffic jam. Many drivers do not abide by traffic rules. Besides, the traffic police arc not sincere. They do not do their duties honestly. The tendency of the bus drivers and conductors to get more and more passengers also causes traffic jam. Some drivers stop buses here and there and board and unheard passengers. This hampers the movement of other vehicles and causes traffic jam. Beside these, bumpy roads also cause traffic jam. Sometimes, the roads are clogged up with water. The unlimited number of rickshaws plying on the streets is another cause of traffic jam. The general people are to face untold sufferings. They are late to go to their working places, offices and other places. Students, employees, businessmen, workers all are to suffer for this tremendously. During traffic jam I feel extremely bored as it kills our valuable time. To relieve the passengers of the sufferings of traffic jam, some steps should be taken by the government. Strict laws should be imposed upon the dishonest traffic police. The drivers who do not abide by traffic rules should be punished in such a way that none dare to do the wrong again. The traffic authority should be active to enforce the traffic rules and maintain the discipline on the roads. Besides, our traffic rules should be amended. TRAFFIC JAM Traffic congestion, commonly referred to as traffic jam, is a widespread issue in modern society. It occurs when there is a long line of vehicles on a road, and they either cannot move at all or can only move at a very slow pace. This problem is a significant nuisance for urban areas, causing various hardships for both passengers and pedestrians. One of the primary causes of traffic jam is the ever-increasing number of vehicles on the roads. The population is growing, and more people are acquiring vehicles to meet their transportation needs. However, the expansion of road infrastructure is not keeping pace with this growth, leading to congestion. Additionally, many drivers do not adhere to traffic rules and regulations, contributing to the problem.Traffic police play a crucial role in managing traffic flow, but their effectiveness can be compromised due to various reasons, including lack of sincerity. Bus drivers and conductors also contribute to traffic congestion by stopping their buses frequently to pick up passengers, disrupting the flow of trafficPoor road conditions, such as bumpy roads or those clogged with water, can exacerbate traffic jams. The proliferation of rickshaws on the streets is another significant factor contributing to congestion. The consequences of traffic jam are severe, with people experiencing delays in reaching their destinations, whether for work, school, or other commitments. To address this issue, the government should take several measures. This includes enforcing strict traffic laws, imposing penalties on drivers who violate rules, and ensuring that traffic police carry out their duties honestly and diligently. Amending and improving traffic regulations can also help alleviate the problem and create a smoother flow of vehicles on the roads.

TRAFFIC JAM Traffic, the movement of vehicles on roads, can cause long queues of slow-moving or stationary vehicles known as traffic jams. This is a pervasive and significant issue in modern society that plagues urban centers. The experience can be highly frustrating and even intolerable for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike. The primary cause of traffic jams is the rapidly increasing number of vehicles on the road, driven by the growing population. However, road infrastructure expansion has failed to keep pace with the increasing number of vehicles, leading to chronic congestion. This, in turn, is compounded by the disobedience of traffic rules by some drivers and the lack of diligence by traffic law enforcers. Bus drivers and conductors' disregard for traffic laws, the stopping of their vehicles in undesignated locations to pick up passengers, is a significant contributor to traffic congestion. Inadequate road conditions such as bumpy roads or flooded roads and the unrestricted number of rickshaws operating on the streets also exacerbate the situation. The detrimental effects of traffic congestion on the general public are widespread and significant. People are frequently late for work, school, and other crucial engagements, and suffer unnecessary inconvenience and discomfort. Students, employees, businessmen, and workers bear the brunt of this chronic problem. During traffic jams, valuable time is lost, and boredom sets in, adding to the unpleasant experience. To address this issue, the government must take significant steps to alleviate the effects of traffic congestion. The traffic police must be held accountable for their actions, and stringent laws must be enacted against those who flout traffic regulations. Traffic authorities should be proactive in enforcing traffic rules and maintaining discipline on the roads. Moreover, traffic regulations must be periodically reviewed and updated to enhance efficiency in traffic flow. TRAFFIC JAM Traffic congestion, characterized by long lines of slow-moving or stationary vehicles, is a widespread and pressing issue in contemporary society, particularly in urban areas. It presents a deeply frustrating and sometimes intolerable experience for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike. The principal cause of these traffic jams is the rapid increase in the number of vehicles on the road, driven by population growth. Unfortunately, the expansion of road infrastructure has not kept pace with this surge in vehicles, resulting in chronic congestion. This problem is further exacerbated by drivers who flout traffic rules and the lack of enforcement by authorities. Bus drivers and conductors who disregard traffic laws, stopping in unauthorized locations to pick up passengers, contribute significantly to traffic congestion. Inadequate road conditions, such as potholes and flooding, as well as the unregulated presence of rickshaws on the streets, further compound the issue. The adverse effects of traffic congestion on the general public are widespread and substantial. Individuals frequently experience delays, stress, and discomfort when commuting to work, school, or other essential commitments. Students, employees, businessmen, and workers all bear the brunt of this persistent problem. Valuable time is wasted during traffic jams, leading to heightened frustration and boredom. To address this issue effectively, the government must take substantial measures to mitigate the impact of traffic congestion. Traffic police should be held accountable for their actions, and stringent laws should be enacted to penalize those who violate traffic regulations. Traffic authorities must actively enforce these rules and maintain order on the roads. Furthermore, periodic reviews and updates of traffic regulations are essential to enhance traffic flow efficiency.

TRAFFIC JAM Traffic jam is a great hazard to modern dwellers. All important streets in a big city get filled up with many types of vehicles during the busy hours. The junctions of city roads turn into images of absurdity of modern transportation. A traffic jam occurs in the same way as a flood occurs in the river. When the rivers’ passage is blocked, the water overflows the banks, similarly when too many vehicles crowd at the same point in the street, the way ahead is blocked, and the vehicles remain stranded for hours together. Traffic jam occurs due to the lack of knowledge about the traffic rules on the part of the vehicle drivers. The tendency to overtake one another is in the blood all drivers. The other major causes of traffic jam originate in the movement of rickshaws and carts on the main road. They are slower modes of transport and are likely to be in the way of engined vehicles which are faster. Over the years more vehicles have come out than there are roads for them to move. Most of the older parts of major cities are narrow, and the streets recently made prove not to be very wide either. The footpath vendors are really the indirect culprits for causing the traffic jam. They erect stalls just on the footpath pushing the pedestrians out into the road, who, in their turn, block the free passage of traffic. Political meeting and rallies frequently create traffic jam. The WASA, T&T, PDB and gas systems organizations can be seen engaged in digging the roads throughout the year. What they accomplish other than create traffic jams nobody seems to know. The steps that have to be taken for controlling the traffic are to educate the drivers about the traffic rules, get the roads wider, make by-passes and remove the footpath shopkeepers. The traffic police also have to be multiplied and posted at more places for effective controlling of the traffic. TRAFFIC JAM Traffic congestion is a pervasive and vexing issue in modern urban life. It plagues our major cities, turning bustling streets into slow-moving, often gridlocked thoroughfares during peak hours. The genesis of these jams parallels the flooding of a river when its course is obstructed; similarly, when too many vehicles converge at an intersection, the road ahead becomes a bottleneck, leaving vehicles idling for hours. This congestion primarily arises from a lack of traffic rule awareness among drivers who habitually engage in risky maneuvers like overtaking, further exacerbating the problem. The presence of slower modes of transportation, such as rickshaws and carts, sharing the road with faster, engine-powered vehicles contributes significantly to the logjam. In many cases, rapid urbanization and population growth have led to an influx of vehicles that outpaces the expansion of road infrastructure. Older sections of major cities, characterized by narrow streets, and even newly constructed roads often lack the breadth necessary to accommodate the surging vehicle numbers. Street vendors, albeit indirectly, also bear some responsibility for traffic snarls. Their stalls spill onto the sidewalks, pushing pedestrians onto the road, obstructing the smooth flow of traffic. Political rallies and meetings, frequently staged in urban centers, further compound the issue by disrupting regular traffic patterns. Utility companies perpetually engage in road excavation, causing further disruption and delays. To combat this menace effectively, comprehensive measures must be implemented. These include thorough driver education on traffic regulations, the expansion of road networks, the construction of bypasses, and the relocation of sidewalk vendors. Moreover, bolstering the presence of traffic police, strategically deployed at critical points, is paramount for the efficient management of traffic congestion. These multifaceted efforts aim to mitigate the aggravating impact of traffic jams and restore sanity to our urban roadways. TRAFFIC JAM Traffic congestion is an all too familiar problem in our bustling cities and towns, representing a major contemporary challenge. This issue can be attributed to the rapid population growth and the exponential increase in the number of vehicles on our roads. It is most acutely felt in densely populated areas where narrow roads exacerbate the situation. The root causes of traffic congestion are multifaceted. Firstly, road infrastructure has not expanded in proportion to our population growth. Additionally, unlicensed vehicles continue to flood the streets and must be brought under control. Many drivers display a reluctance to adhere to traffic regulations, preferring to drive as they please. Overtaking tendencies further contribute to the gridlock. Compounding the issue, there is often an insufficient number of traffic police officers to effectively manage the flow of vehicles. Traffic jams are particularly excruciating during office hours and when offices are closing, making commutes unbearable. Sometimes, these traffic snarls extend for long distances, crippling our schedules and hampering our productivity. Furthermore, traffic congestion poses serious challenges for emergency services, impeding ambulances rushing critically ill patients to hospitals and fire brigade vehicles responding to emergencies. In light of these substantial repercussions, urgent and comprehensive measures must be taken to address this issue and restore smooth traffic flow to our streets. A TRAFFIC POLICE Traffic police are well known persons to all in the towns and cities. They are the part and parcel of city life. We see them standing on the islands in the streets from morning to night. They put on a uniform. They use umbrella to save themselves from the scorching heat of the sun and from heavy rains. Sometimes they have sheds on the road to stand. They are engaged in controlling the movement of people and vehicles on the road. They are also engaged in minimising jams and accidents so that people can move easily and freely. Traffic police also extend help to cross the road to those who are unable to cross it. There are traffic signals on important roads, bends and junctions. Those who violate traffic rules are fined or taken to the custody. Sometimes traffic police search the drivers whether they have the licences or other necessary papers. Traffic police have heavy responsibilities. They are very punctual, sincere and dutiful. But there are some traffic police who are not sincere in their duties. But they are few in number. Traffic police do very laborious work for the welfare of people. But they are ill-paid employees. Government should take a hand to improve their fate. A TRAFFIC POLICE Traffic police officers are familiar figures in urban areas, playing an integral role in the fabric of city life. These dedicated professionals can be observed stationed at street intersections, tirelessly performing their duties from dawn to dusk. Clad in their distinctive uniforms, they often employ umbrellas to shield themselves from the scorching sun or heavy rainfall. Some are fortunate to have shelters provided for their respite. Their primary responsibility entails regulating the movement of vehicles and pedestrians on the streets, with a focus on minimizing traffic congestion and averting accidents to ensure the smooth flow of people and traffic. Traffic police officers also offer assistance to individuals who require aid in crossing busy thoroughfares. To enhance safety, traffic signals are strategically placed at critical road sections, curves, and intersections. Those who disregard traffic regulations face penalties, including fines or even detention. At times, traffic police officers conduct checks to verify drivers' licenses and the completeness of necessary documentation. The role of traffic police is undeniably demanding, characterized by unwavering punctuality, dedication, and diligence. While the majority of traffic police officers are committed to their responsibilities, a small fraction may fall short of expected standards. Nevertheless, it is important to acknowledge the arduous work these individuals perform for the betterment of society. Regrettably, their compensation often does not align with the magnitude of their responsibilities, leaving many in a financially precarious position. It is imperative for the government to intervene and improve the working conditions and remuneration of traffic police officers, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the welfare of the community.

Tree Plantation Tree plantation is the act of increasing the number of trees in a specific area. Among the essential components of our environment – trees, air, soil, and water – trees stand out as the most crucial and beneficial. Without trees, the existence of life on Earth would be impossible. Trees play a fundamental role in sustaining life by producing the oxygen we breathe, while also absorbing the harmful carbon dioxide we exhale. Additionally, trees provide various fruits, foods, wood, shade, and flowers, enriching our lives in countless ways. They serve as a shield against air pollution, river erosion, soil erosion, and natural disasters, such as floods and landslides, by stabilizing the environment. Moreover, trees influence weather patterns, contributing to rainfall that supports agriculture. In the realm of medicine, many valuable drugs and treatments are derived from the leaves, roots, and bark of various tree species. Furthermore, trees enhance the natural beauty of our surroundings, making the world a more visually appealing place.Despite the undeniable benefits of trees, they are subjected to indiscriminate deforestation throughout the year, posing a severe threat to our existence on Earth. To counteract this peril, tree plantation initiatives are imperative in our country. The ideal period for such efforts is during June and July when the climate is most conducive to tree growth. Ensuring the success of tree plantation programs nationwide is of paramount importance. By doing so, we can contribute to a safer, better, and more harmonious world. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to prioritize and effectively implement tree plantation projects to secure a sustainable future for all. TREE PLANTATION Since the dawn of civilisation man has a close relation with nature. Nature helps us in many ways. And trees are the integral part of nature. They are the gifts of nature. Trees give us oxygen. It gives us fruits. It gives shade in the sun. It gives shelter to the homeless. It makes the land fertile. It saves the soil from erosion. Trees are very essential in a country to cause rains. It forms a natural beauty in a country. It plays a very important role for our existence. But for the development of human civilisation this valuable assets are damaged day by day. The people of our country cut down our trees at random. So, our country is losing her trees. If this process continues, she will turn into a desert. The country will bear the consequences of ‘Green House Effect’. To preserve our environment, we should plant more and more trees. People must be convinced of the need for planting more and more trees. They should be made aware that our economy is dependent upon trees. There is an ample scope for afforestation in Bangladesh. Sea beaches, low lying areas and fallow lands can be brought under the scheme of afforestation with special types of trees suited to the soil. Shady trees and fruit trees should be planted by the side of roads and highways. Trees may be planted in all sides of ponds and tanks in village. It is the duty of all of us to maintain balance between man and nature for the greater interest of the country and for our own survival. TREE PLANTATION Since the dawn of civilization, humans have maintained a close relationship with nature, which has provided us with numerous benefits. Among these natural gifts, trees hold a particularly vital role. Trees contribute significantly to our well-being and the health of the environment. They are responsible for producing oxygen, bearing fruits, providing shade from the sun, offering shelter to the homeless, enriching the soil, and preventing erosion. Moreover, trees play a crucial role in the formation of rain, adding to the natural beauty of a region.Despite their immense importance, the trees in our country are facing relentless damage due to indiscriminate cutting. This widespread deforestation poses a grave threat to our environment. If this destructive trend persists, our land may transform into a desert, and the adverse effects of the 'Greenhouse Effect' will become increasingly apparent. To protect our environment, it is imperative that we prioritize afforestation and increase tree planting efforts.Raising awareness among the public is essential to instill the understanding that our economy is intricately linked to the well-being of trees. Bangladesh possesses ample opportunities for afforestation, with areas such as sea beaches, low-lying regions, and fallow lands being suitable candidates for tree planting initiatives. Roadside and highway plantations should feature shade trees and fruit-bearing trees to enhance the surroundings. In villages, planting trees around ponds and tanks is another approach to increase green cover. It is the collective responsibility of every citizen to maintain a harmonious balance between humanity and nature for the greater good of our nation and the sustainability of our own lives. By protecting and nurturing our trees, we can safeguard our environment and secure a healthier future. TREE PLANTATION Tree plantation refers to the deliberate act of strategically planting trees in a structured manner, offering both economic sustainability and ecological equilibrium. Trees are invaluable assets, providing an array of benefits to humans. They yield a diverse range of fruits for consumption, serve as a source of wood for furniture, offer ornamental flowers for embellishing our surroundings, and provide branches and leaves that can be used as fuel. Moreover, trees play a pivotal role in preserving the balance of our atmosphere by absorbing Carbon Dioxide and releasing Oxygen, a vital element for respiration. Their presence also has a positive impact on precipitation, contributing to increased rainfall that is beneficial for the growth of vegetables, fruits, and agricultural crops. Consequently, trees are among nature's most cherished gifts.Unfortunately, the escalating demand for resources has resulted in rampant deforestation, threatening our environment. This depletion of trees has led to an excessive accumulation of carbon dioxide, contributing to global warming, climate change, and more frequent natural disasters such as floods, thunderstorms, and cyclones. Additionally, the removal of trees weakens soil stability, leading to landslides and river erosion. Despite the fact that it is recommended that a country should maintain 25% forest coverage for a healthy environment, many nations, including ours, fall short with only approximately 11% forested areas. In light of these challenges, it is imperative that we intensify tree planting efforts. Trees should be planted around our residences, along roadsides, railways, and vacant spaces. The government should spearhead large-scale tree plantation projects to bolster forestation. Forests play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and mitigating natural disasters such as cyclones, floods, and tidal bores. Given the monumental contribution of trees to our daily lives, it is inconceivable to envision a world without them. To ensure a green, clean, and safe environment for current and future generations, we must commit to planting more trees and nurturing them to maturity. TREE PLANTATION Trees play an indispensable role in maintaining a healthy and habitable environment. They are essential for the survival of virtually all living beings, including humans. One of their most critical functions is producing oxygen, which is vital for human and animal life—without it, survival for even a few minutes becomes impossible. Trees also provide us with fruits, flowers, and valuable shade. Their wood and leaves serve as valuable resources for crafting household furniture and as a source of fuel.To sustain a healthy environment, it is imperative that at least 25% of a country's total landmass is covered by forests. This forest cover plays a pivotal role in ensuring adequate rainfall, which is essential for crop production. Unfortunately, in recent times, trees are being indiscriminately felled to accommodate the growing population and meet their furniture needs. This reckless deforestation poses a significant threat to our natural world. Without a concerted effort to protect and preserve our forests, our ecosystem may collapse, leading to dire consequences for both the environment and humanity. To safeguard nature and ensure our own well-being, it is imperative that we prioritize tree planting and forest conservation efforts. Deforestation must be staunchly opposed to maintain a healthy environment. By raising our awareness and consciousness about the importance of trees, we can collectively work towards enriching our surroundings with greenery, thereby creating a more sustainable and thriving ecosystem.

TRIBALS OF BANGLADESH

Bangladesh has been a melting pot of peoples and cultures for a very long time. The tribal population of Bangladesh numbers almost one million. They live generally in the hilly regions, i.e. north of Mymensingh, the Sylhet area and more than half a million are concentrated in the wooded Chittagong Hill Tracts. Others live in urban areas such as Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar. The tribes living in the Hill Tracts of Chittagong include the Chakmas, Moghs, Murungs, Lushais, Kukis, Bams, Tripuras, Saks, Tangchangyas, Shandus, Banjugis and the Pankhars. The tribes in the Sylhet Hills are Khasis, Pangous and the Manipuris. The Garos, Hanjongis, Hadis, Dahuis, Palais and the Bunas live in the hilly regions north of Mymensingh in Haluaghat, Sreebardi, Kalmakanda and the Garo Hills and some live west of Mymensingh around the Madhupur forests. Other tribal groups, such as the Santals, Oraons, Hus, Mundus and Rajbansis are scattered in urban settlements in Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Rajshahi, Noakhali, Comilla and Bakerganj. The tribal groups have their own distinct cultures, art, religious beliefs, superstitions, farming methods and attire. Many of the tribes are Buddhists, though some still retain their animist religion. Rice and wine are the staple food of these hill people, but included in the tribal men are snakes, beetles, crabs, fish, snails, pigs, dogs, buffaloes, deer, ants and chickens. The dwellings of the hill people are usually bamboo huts, either on stilts or flat on the ground and their farming methods are ancient. Many of the tribes still have very little contact with the outside world, but as modern civilisation begins to encroach on their territories, more and more of the younger villagers are moving to the urban areas for employment. In this way, the tribal people in Bangladesh pass their life with peace and amity.

TRUTHFULNESS

Truthfulness is a great virtue of mankind. When man speaks just what is right, he speaks the truth. A truthful man wins the love and respect of all. People believe what he says. They can rely upon him. Truth is of great use in our practical life. If we are to determine the offence of a person, we have to depend upon the evidence of some witness. If they are truthful, we can arrive at a right conclusion. If they are not truthful, we arrive at a wrong conclusion. The world moves upon truth. Falsehood is sure to be detected. It will then bring disgrace upon us. To support a lie, we have to tell lies. We are always in fear of detection. Thus we lose peace of mind. Truthfulness is the mother of courage, justice, benevolence and all other moral virtues. If we do not cultivate truthfulness in our boyhood, it is difficult for us to shake off the habit of telling lies when we grow old. Besides, a nation cannot exist without truth. The nations which achieved greatness in this world, always stuck to truth. So our young men should cultivate truthfulness.
