Dear Fatin

Today I am going to write you about my recent visit to a science fair. My elder brother who studies in BUET invites me to pay a visit to their campus on the occasion of a science fair. Accordingly, I went there and enjoyed a lot.

What I saw was a fantastic arrangement of exhibits of all kinds of scientific experiments done both by the students of BUET and by students of other science institutions.

The exhibition was being held in a 4-storeyed building. On the ground floor we saw many posters of great scientists of the world like Newton, Einstein, and Prof. Abdus Salam. Some of the wall papers contained memorable statements on the importance of science. The third floor had the most interesting practical exhibits to show. The students of BUET had arranged it. All their exhibitions were the result of their laboratory experiment. One object drew my attention. It was about the optical illusion. A small iron ball was shown to be travelling upward on a narrow plank of board, without any additional help. Later, I realised that the board was originally set with the upside end actually lower than the downside end, for which reason it gave the illusion that the ball was rolling upward, when actually it was gliding down. In the aviation room they put blown up pictures of Apollo 11 making its historic voyage to the moon. A short-film was also shown on the astronauts: Neil Armstrong who first set feet upon the face of the moon, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins. I visited different stalls. I could only guess what tremendous development has been achieved in different branches of science. In the fair I gathered almost up-to-date information about the development of Physics, Chemistry, Medical Science and Technology. Indeed, the science fair increases our zeal about science facts. We feel that we must know more about the mysteries of nature.

A science fair has a great educative value. I spent full six hours visiting the science fair and learning and enjoying a world of new things. It has left a deep impression on my mind. That’s all for today. Hope you are in sound health and joyful time. With good wishes.

Thank you so much for your kind letter. I hope you're doing well. I'm fine too. You asked about my recent visit to the science fair, so I'll tell you about it briefly.

These days, science and computers play a big role in our lives, making things easier and more comfortable. Young scientists are always busy with their research, day and night. That's why science fairs have become very popular in schools and colleges in Bangladesh. Almost every year, there's a science fair at our upazila headquarters college. This time, there was one again.

Since I'm in the science group, I enjoy visiting government colleges. I went to the fair with my father, who teaches science at a high school. Many students from different colleges joined the fair. The young science enthusiasts showed off their new inventions and experiments, which impressed everyone a lot.

I was amazed to see the creativity of our young learners. I talked to many of them and learned a lot of new things. If they're guided well, they'll make our nation proud. So, science fairs are really valuable. They help bring out the hidden talents of science students. I believe every student should visit a science fair.

I hope you’re doing great! Last week, I had the chance to visit a science fair held at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Dhaka. It was an inspiring experience, and I thought you’d love to hear about it.

The fair featured hundreds of projects from schools and colleges across the country. As I walked in, I was amazed by the energy and creativity of the students presenting their work. The first thing that caught my eye was a robotic arm designed by a group of high school students. It could pick up small objects with precision and was programmed using AI to recognize colors.

Another highlight was the section on renewable energy. I saw innovative models of wind turbines and solar-powered vehicles. One project that stood out was a “smart irrigation system” designed to conserve water and increase efficiency in agriculture—something I believe could truly help our farmers.

There were also fun experiments for visitors. I participated in a virtual reality setup where I explored the solar system, and it felt like I was floating in space! There was even a small planetarium show that explained the constellations and planets in the night sky.

The fair was not only educational but also motivating. It reminded me how much potential the young minds of our country have. I wish you could have joined me—it would have been so much fun exploring it together.
